Different boats need different trailer setups. We have the right equipment for runabouts on bunks, pontoons on scissors or legs trailers, and tri-toons that require special blocking. Every transport includes our required Summer Start-Up service to verify your boat runs properly at the destination.

Standard bunk trailer

The most common transport setup. Your boat rides on traditional carpeted bunks that support the hull along its length. Best for runabouts, fishing boats, and most fiberglass V-hulls.

Best for: Runabouts, ski boats, fishing boats, and most standard fiberglass or aluminum V-hull boats.

Scissors Transport

CM scissors trailer

Our scissors trailer is designed for pontoons. The scissoring arms wrap under each toon and cradle the boat securely. Allows safe transport of pontoons that don’t fit a standard bunk trailer.

Best for: Two-tube pontoons that need to be transported off their original trailer or that don’t have a trailer.

Legs Transport

CM legs trailer

Our legs trailer uses vertical support legs that hold each pontoon tube at multiple points. Heavier-duty than scissors, designed for larger pontoons or boats requiring more support points along the toons.

Best for: Larger or heavier two-tube pontoons that need additional support during transport.

Tri-Toon Transport

Specialized, requires blocking

Tri-toons (three-tube pontoons) require additional blocking to safely support the center tube during transport. The premium reflects the extra equipment, time, and care required for these performance pontoons.

Best for: Three-tube performance pontoons, including high-horsepower tri-toons and luxury models.

Summer Start-Up Service
Required – $155 Per Boat

Parts and labor for any items requiring replacement (water pumps, spark plugs, hose clamps, etc.) are additional and quoted before any work begins.

When we transport your boat to a new lake, we run a complete start-up service at the destination to verify everything works before you launch. This is required for every Charter Marine transport – no exceptions.

We perform: Battery hookup and check – Engine run on hose to verify operation – Water pump function verification – Full leak inspection

Questions About Transporting Your Boat?

When a boat moves from one lake to another, conditions change. Different water, different launch, sometimes weeks or months of sitting in between. The startup service verifies your boat runs properly, the water pump is functioning, and there are no leaks before you launch into unfamiliar water. It also protects us. We don’t want to deliver your boat and have it fail to start, leaving you stuck. The service ensures a smooth handoff every time.

Both are for pontoons. A scissors trailer uses arms that scissor closed around each toon, supporting the boat at two main contact points per tube. A legs trailer uses vertical support legs at multiple points along the toons, providing more support points and capacity. Scissors works great for standard-size pontoons; legs is recommended for larger or heavier boats that benefit from additional support.

Tri-toons have a center tube that needs to be supported separately from the outer tubes. This requires additional blocking and careful positioning to prevent stress on the center tube during transport. The rate reflects the additional time, equipment, and care required.

Yes, we can transport longer distances on request. Pricing for transports outside our standard service area is quoted custom based on mileage, time, and route. Call us with your specific origin and destination for a quote.

That’s exactly why we do the startup check – better to find out at the launch than after you’ve pushed off. If we find issues, we’ll explain what’s needed and provide a quote. Common findings include corroded battery terminals, bad spark plugs, water pump failures, and stuck thermostats. Parts and additional labor are quoted before any work begins.
